Cameron may have served time in jail and it may have opened his eyes but he needs to continue treatment after he gets out. The same temptations are going to be out there when he leaves prison and opiate addiction is a tiger that seems to follow an addict around for the rest of their lives. Cameron needs to stay vigilant and get the support he needs to stay in recovery.

Thank you for shining a light at an issue that is really looked over by treatment experts as well as the general public. In the eighties people used cocaine to stay slim and beautiful and today it is crystal meth.The fact that this drug ravages a person’s looks like no other substance abuse problem should be a warning but it is ignored. Meth users are quite possibly the most “in danger while using” addicts. They have no rational way of controlling their behavior on this drug.Thanks for the article. Hopefully it will get some users out there into drug treatment.

wow that is a lot of money. I don’t know that I can say my ex got me addicted to drugs. Although, I’d never used them before we met, and I didn’t become addicted until after, but I am my own person and need to take responsibility for my actions. so should this guy.

Wow…what a story you have. My heart goes out to you. You survived the car accident for a reason, just like you survived the overdose.
8 months of H is awesome, and I know you can do more. Focus on the good things and what you truly have offer and the rest will come.

I’ve always believed that treatment is personal and unique and should be designed to fit that person.

Lying is what addicts do best. They lie to themselves and to others easily. For a lot of addicts it is difficult to for them to tell the truth due to fear of rejection…at least that’s how they rationalize it.

When I first saw the article regarding the book and Agassi’s use I thought that athletes might use it to perform well, but when i found he dropped to 141 in that same year, I think that sends a clear message
